Bento posts a net profit of 12.1 million lei in the first half of 2024, up 106%

2B Intelligent Soft (Bento, Intellectually Curious, BVB: BENTO), a Romanian entrepreneurial company specializing in the development and implementation of software solutions and the provision of IT and Cloud infrastructure services, posts operating revenues of 44.9 million lei in the first six months of 2024, a significant 160% increase compared to the same period in 2023, and a net profit of 12.1 million lei, reflecting a 106% growth compared to the first half of last year.

“The technology sector is facing major global challenges, which we anticipated as early as last year. In 2024, we focused on efficiently managing resources and capitalizing on long-term growth opportunities. This strategy has allowed us to remain agile and competitive despite economic uncertainties and rapid changes in the industry. The significant increase in revenue and profit in the first half of the year reflects our ongoing investments in innovation and operational efficiency. As a result, our first-half 2024 results are in line with our expectations, providing us confidence that Bento is on the right track for medium- and long-term growth,” stated Radu Scarlat, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Bento.

The “Software Development” (DEV) division contributed 31% to the operating revenues for the first half of 2024, while the “IT, Infrastructure, and Cloud” (IT) division contributed 68%. Of the total operating revenues, 93% were generated from turnover and 6% from investments in the company’s own software products, particularly the development of the integrated modular software platform – Bento Platform.

“The first half of the year continued to be dynamic for our teams. We managed to sign important contracts, especially with companies active in the energy sector, further consolidating our position and expertise in this field, where we are recognized for delivering customized and complex solutions. Furthermore, in mid-September, we became members of AmCham Romania, thus strengthening our presence in business communities relevant to us. We believe this affiliation will help us grow in expertise and visibility among American multinational companies already present in the Romanian market or seeking relevant business partners. We aim to leverage the opportunities provided by ongoing projects to expand our presence in the local market and explore new development directions in international markets,” stated Vlad Bodea, Co-founder of Bento and member of the Board of Directors.

In the first half of this year, the company signed two new significant contracts totaling approximately 12.7 million lei with two clients active in the energy sector. One of these contracts involves implementing, configuring, and customizing new modules from the Bento Platform, along with completing the configurations and customizations of previously implemented modules for this client. This year, and in the years to come, Bento aims to actively promote its own platform, allowing it to more effectively capitalize on the growing demand for complex IT solutions and the need for customization tailored to the specific requirements of companies and public institutions. Additionally, the company is observing increased interest in cloud-based digitalization solutions, which it is integrating into its offering.

The significant projects announced overtime on the capital market, such as the development and implementation of the Bento FSM module at Distribuție Energie Electrică România (DEER) and the provision of IT infrastructure management services for a multinational company in the oil and gas sector, are progressing according to schedule and continue to bring significant added value with a direct impact on the clients’ operations while motivating the Bento team.
Bento is listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as of March 16, 2022, and is one of the few technology companies in Romania that develops its own software products. Currently, Bento has a market capitalization of approximately 187 million lei.
